Wheeler's Maple and Pancake House.

The first weekend of March marks the beginning of the sap flow season for most maple producers – it’s also when many sugar shacks open their doors to the public. There’s a sweet adventure waiting for you, from hiking trails that follow the pipelines to tasting fresh sap, maple taffy, maple museums, pancakes, waffles and maple syrup, of course!

I’ve mapped out as many maple producers as possible, marking those open year-round, seasonal operations, festivals, and events like Ontario’s Maple Syrup Weekend and Maple in the County!

Many maple producers will serve pancakes with maple syrup during the spring season, so check ahead, and you will arrive hungry for breakfast!

Some producers may not accept debit or credit onsite, so please be prepared with some cash so you don’t go home disappointed if you plan to buy maple products or pancakes with syrup!

Wear warm clothes if you plan to explore the pipelines and hiking trails through the maples found at many locations!

Springtime can mean mushy walking conditions! If you plan to explore, wear your boots to trek through the snow and muddy trails so your feet don’t get soggy!
