Fossil Hunting on the Geoheritage Trail in Eganville

Fossils, forests, and river rapids are the highlights of this trail. Declared the Ordovician fossil capital of Canada, guaranteed to see evidence of the past, frozen in time.

The Geoheritage Trailhead

Trail length: undetermined. Download the trail map from the Bonnechere Museum website.

Even with the map on hand, and the signage, it’s confusing to follow the trails. There are multiple footpaths, and the way is not well marked, and with multiple dead-end spurs.

Should anyone get turned around, keep the sound of the raging river to your right and behind you, and the trails will lead you back to the CPR railbed that runs parallel to the water, out to the trailhead.
