Heidi Csernak, the slow explorer
I’m exploring Ontario’s natural gems at a mindful pace.
I’ve timed it – I average 1 km per hour when I’m not being chased by bugs! Only then will I move slightly faster.
After every adventure, I share the horrid, humiliating and humorous parts of my journeys with great humbleness so that you may laugh and learn from my mistakes.
What’s new for 2022? I’ve gone camping for the first time since my youth – and backpacking for the first time in my life! When the water warms a bit more, I have paddle-in camping adventures planned – another first! – including multi-site trips.

My goal is to infuse a personalized edge with my content and bring out the human element that compels action. In order to write effective tourism stories, you must get on the level and be a tourist yourself – even if it’s in your own backyard.
By the end of the story, I want the reader to be thinking: I want to do this.
